Intersection: Computer Graphics for Everyday LivingDate of completion: 08/2004
'Intersection' is a computer graphics display which shows real-time information of buses and trams. This project was developed with the Viktoria Institute in Gothenburg, Sweden. It was exhibited in Siggraph 2005: sketches and applications.
This program retrieves real-time schedule of buses and trams from the Gothenburg's WAP traffic service. This information is represented graphically as 'traffic' in an intersection.
The longer the 'queue', the more time it would take until the bus will arrive (in fact each row of circles represents one minute). The idea is to create an informational display that is at once informative and aesthetically pleasing.
An interface was also developed so that one can easily customise the display to show any bus line/bus stop throughout the city of Gothenburg. A total of 4 buses can be shown on the same display.
This program was developed using OpenGL with C++ Programming.
