This
project attempts to illustrate the relationship between language
and pictures through Chinese characters. Language (be it verbal,
written, or pictorial) is treated as a means of understanding
a culture. Using the Chinese written language, I hope to promote
the idea that through an understanding of different languages,
a person can gain insight and appreciation of the culture that
the language belongs to. As an extension of this project, this
site experiments with graphic design principles that are appropriate
to the Chinese written language.
